SOUL OF AMERICA CONCERT REVIEWS!
ALLIANCE FOR CREATIVE EXPRESSION SHOW GETS R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Saturday,
April
26th, 44 students performed on stage as part of the Upper Bucks Alliance
for
Creative Expression's "Soul of America" Concert. The students performed
songs like "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi
Terell,
"Heat Wave " by Martha and the Vandellas, "Play That Funky Music" by
Wild
Cherry and "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. After months of practice
with
Craig Thatcher and his band, and musical directors, Pat Flaherty and
Craig
Kastelnik, these students took the stage like true professionals!
What a night it was.more than 700 ticket holders danced in their seats
and
sang with every song. When the Blues Brothers danced and sang "Soul
Man,"
the crowd went wild! It was a memorable night in little Kintnersville!
Special thanks to our Academy students who helped with staging and video
-
Jess Barron, Jeff Wetherill, Dale Mahoney, Emily Wintermute, Richie

Palisades Promise did a great job of providing refreshments at the
concert
also; many volunteers baked for the event. Thanks to Mary and Keri
Miller,
Beth, Ed and Eddie Hall, Cindy and Tommy Dannenhower and Tootsie Carty
for
the treats!
Warm heartfelt thanks to Mr. John Ruby, the Executive Director of UBACE.
His energy should be bottled and his compassion for kids is unshakable!
He
is truly an advocate for student performers, and we are happy to have
his
friendship. John mentioned that the next show will be in October. If
